Coming in the form of a square with rounded-off corners – or 'squircle' as some people like to call it – the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag+ looks pretty unassuming for something of its capability. After all, just based on looks alone, it's a tiny plastic square that you attach to something you tend to misplace (like your keys or anything, really).

Setup is pretty easy. All you'll need to do is pair it with a compatible Galaxy smartphone on the Samsung SmartThings app and you're basically ready to go.

When you lose something, just open the SmartThings app to see your item's last location. From there, you can retrace your steps quite easily on a detailed map. But just in case you need more help, or if the thing you're looking for is somehow wedged into a place that's hiding it from sight, you can even trigger a noise from the SmartTag+, adding more than one way to retrieve your lost item.

With AR Finding, you can even use your phone's camera and an augmented reality navigation system to find your stuff. When you're close, a glimmering green light will appear around the area your item is located. Sparkly, almost.

Though the SmartTag+ has a bluetooth range of 120 meters without obstacles in the way, you can still track your items offline. Using the Galaxy Find Network, you can make use of other existing Galaxy devices in the vicinity – let's say you live close to the office and you've got a Galaxy device there for example – and employ privately scanned data to locate your item on the map displayed in the SmartThings app.

Pretty neat.
