The coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, pandemic has brought out the best and worst among Singaporeans.
With Singapore having the most number of cases in Southeast Asia (as of April 29, there are over 15,000 cases), companies in the Lion City have begun mobilizing in a bid to assist in the fight against the pandemic.
Here are five startups that are doing a tremendous job in assisting COVID-19 relief efforts.
Kobe Global Technologies
The COVID-19 pandemic has undoubtedly led to many people across the world losing their jobs and livelihood. Among those severely impacted are freelancers.
Realizing this, Kobe Global Technologies has initiated the #NoDistancing movement. By working closely with local businesses, media creators, giggers, and freelancers such as singers, dancers, comedians, and magicians are now performing live across social media platforms.
While it's a small initiative, the long term benefits are huge as brands and freelancers get the awareness they deserve while ensuring Singaporeans who remain indoors are kept entertained.
DoctorxDentist
If you're in Singapore and in need of information related to COVID-19 matters, DoctorxDentist has over 500 doctors who hold free live sessions to answer your queries.
These are no ordinary doctors, mind you. Participating doctors include high-profile, award winning breast surgeons such as, Dr Tan Yia Swam, who is also a highly-respected doctor in the medical field and the first Vice-President of the Singapore Medical Association Council.
The platform has also donated air purifiers and hand sanitizers to the Singapore Expo's Community Isolation Facility. These were sponsored by Blueair and Schulke.
DiSa
With over 15,000 cases in Singapore, healthcare in the Lion City is overwhelmed. Yet, there's a need to disinfect across the nation.
The disinfection process takes an hour. But thanks to DiSa's UV Disinfection Autonomous Mobile Robot, the procedure takes a mere 15 minutes.
The robot, Singapore's first, maps out a room, independently manoeuvres around and uses UV-C light to kill 99.99 percent of bacteria, viruses, and pathogens.

Believe it or not, there's now an on-demand disinfection service in Singapore.
