Having to stay indoors daily has become unbearable for many of us. For Malaysian mother Intan Nur Anum, her daughters have found a way to ease their lockdown boredom by becoming friends with their neighbor from across the street.
In a series of video clips posted on Twitter, the heartwarming attempts of Intan’s six-year-old daughter Hana, and three-year-old daughter Lisa in calling out their neighbor from the balcony has melted the hearts of many.
Posted on June 18, the first video features Intan's daughter showing her love for Frozen, a Disney animated film. The neighbor, who was dressed up as Elsa, had prompted Hana to present her princess collection, consisting of a crown and a dress.
Currently at 6,700 likes and 3,800 retweets, many people found the video to be wholesome and sad at the same time because the children were desperately trying to socialize.

Barely tall enough, Hana stuck out her hands through a small gap in the balcony and used her booming voice to communicate. When her neighbor couldn’t see her, Hana’s determination to hold onto her crown made Lisa warn her to be careful not to drop it. How cute!

The good news is, Hana and Lisa managed to make a new friend and continued their ‘long-distance’ friendship over the next few days.
Held at the same place, another video shows the trio having a so-called ‘meeting’ about fish on the third day.
This time, however, Hana took center stage by announcing that she had new fish food. A rather strange but adorable topic!

When speaking to the Malay Mail, Intan said that her daughters had called their neighbor 'Elsa' ever since their first encounter.
“They called their neighbor ‘Elsa’ because the first time they ‘met’, the girl was wearing an Elsa outfit. So my kids would call out “Elsaaa, Elsaaa,” and the girl would show up at her window,” said Intan.
According to Intan, she suspects that her daughters were feeling lonely due to being cooped up for too long. It isn't their first time calling out to people outside. foodpanda riders and joggers who pass by also get greeted by the girls. Intan’s daughters have also befriended a few other neighbors.
“I think they’re lonely after being stuck at home all this while. So, every time someone passes through, they would call out to them.” “They seem so desperate to socialize,” added Intan.
In regards to the current Movement Control Order (MCO), Intan is glad that her family was well prepared this time around as her daughters have slowly begun to understand the COVID-19 pandemic.
In other videos posted on Twitter, Intan would keep them busy by homeschooling, playing games, and carrying out some fun mother and daughter activities such as baking.

Intan hopes for the COVID-19 pandemic to improve soon, since the vaccines have been rolled out.
“Achieving herd immunity is good enough for me, I’m hoping for that,” Intan said to end.
Let's hope that their friendship will be everlasting.
