A severely skinny and scraggly stray cat, Meimei, has transformed into a true princess thanks to its owner’s unconditional love and care.
With regular grooming sessions and visits to the vet, this cat has fully grown in just over a year.
With beautiful white fur, Meimei is at a healthy weight now.

On June 19, 2021, 30-year-old Nur Hamizah Had from Sarawak, Malaysia, shared her cat’s transformation in the Facebook group Kelab Pencinta Kuching Malaysia (cat lovers club for Malaysians).
Captioned “From ugly and stinky to princess”, the post includes photos illustrating the drastic change in Meimei’s conditions before and after it was adopted by Nur Hamizah.
The before and after photos gained around 4,600 likes.

Previously wandering outside of Nur Hamizah’s home and begging for food, Meimei was in a rather bad state back in May 2020.
Looking extremely small and frail, Meimei also had infected wounds and “smelled bad”, according to Nur Hamizah.
This prompted Nur Hamizah to coax Meimei into a cardboard box before taking it home.

Initially frightened and wary around Nur Hamizah and her husband, it was suspected that Meimei went through some form of abuse or abandonment before.
However, the couple continued feeding Meimei, kept it hydrated, and brought it to the vet around four to five times to treat its infected skin and wounds.
Meimei barely weighed 2 kilograms back then.

After five to six months of being under Nur Hamizah’s care, the hard work paid off when Meimei gradually grew back its fur.
According to Nur Hamizah, the secret to Meimei’s fluffy and luscious fur was simply because of its weekly bathing sessions and daily brushings. Aside from that, the well-fed cat only consumes a regular diet.

Growing comfortable around its caretakers, Nur Hamizah acknowledged that Meimei is an intelligent cat too.
Meimei would roam around the house only to sleep nearby Nur Hamiza doing house chores. How cute!
