Want to volunteer at this year’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar? Here’s how you can join.

If you've always wanted to be part of the FIFA World Cup, here's your chance! FIFA is currently calling for applicants to join their volunteer team at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.

A total of 20,000 individuals from around the world will be chosen to work across 45 functional areas at official and non-official sites. Once selected, the volunteers will be working in sites like stadiums, training sites, the airport, hotels, fan zones, and public transportation hubs.

What are the requirements?

Applicants need to be at least 18 years old on October 1, 2022.
Able to understand and speak English (knowledge of Arabic is an advantage).
Able to commit a minimum of 10 full days during the tournament.
No previous experience is needed.
Candidates from all backgrounds and parts of the world are encouraged to apply.

Once selected, volunteers will receive their own limited edition Adidas uniform, as well as a free meal during their shift, and free access to public transport. You will also receive a volunteer recognition certificate for your hard work.

Things to note:

As of now, all volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated with an approved vaccine as per Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) guidelines. The Qatar team will monitor the guidelines from the MOPH, and update the requirements, such as the need to take PCR tests, accordingly.

And football fans, do note this: Most of the volunteer roles will be located away from the pitch! You will not be able to watch the football matches during your shifts, so keep that in mind.

Nevertheless, you still have bragging rights for being a part of the biggest football tournament. ;)
