If you've ever gone camping, you'll know that being able to sleep in peace and quiet is not as easy as it sounds when you're out in the wilderness.
Things get even more difficult when you're in a location that's specifically designated as a campground, since you'll also have to deal with 'neighbors' that may or may not be familiar with camping etiquette.
Wanting to ensure he gets a good night's sleep at his camping spot, one Malaysian hiker decided to employ a unique trick to get proper shut-eye.
In a series of photos posted in the Hiking And Camping Around Malaysia Facebook group, Facebook user Jiwakacau Yut shared a rather unique tip to get undisturbed sleep while camping. It's actually pretty smart, but also extremely mischievous, to say the least:
"If you're camping and don't want your next door neighbor to make a lot of noise until late at night, here's a tip to get them to leave the area immediately," the hiker shares.
"Isn't it safe?" he jokingly asks, adding that his 'technique' is also effective in stopping fellow campers from stealing his personal possessions while he's asleep.
This also gets rid of the need for a camping tent, allowing you to enjoy the outdoors in all its beauty, apparently.
If you're familiar with Southeast Asian folklore, the man's use of a cloth to wrap his whole body is reminiscent of the ever-terrifying hantu pocong, or shroud ghost – a dead person wrapped in a white-colored shroud from head to toe, with the arms and feet bound together.

In this hiker's version of the pocong, he opts for more color to his protective 'sleeping bag'. Maybe for added visibility in the darkness. Safety first!
And let's just say, people reacted to the tips the way we'd expect superstitious Malaysians to.
"It doesn't have to be a white-colored shroud. These colors wrapped that way are already scary enough," says one commenter.
"I'm worried about waking up and being questioned by angels," says another, jokingly implying that they'd wake up dead after wrapping themselves up like that.
One commenter said it'd be nice if they could wrap one of their friends like that and use them as a human bolster to tide through the night. Weird, but sure.
As to whether this tactic was actually effective or not, remains to be seen. But it's probably worth a shot, at least in places like Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei.
