Every year, the world (and the moon) experiences something magical.
For several hours, people on Earth will be able to enjoy a spectacle in which the moon appears larger and brighter than usual.
2022's largest supermoon.

The phenomenon happens when the moon gets to its closest position to Earth, making it to appear full.
"Every month, the moon will pass through two distinct points within its orbit, namely the nearest point to the Earth called perigee and the furthest point from Earth called apogee. A supermoon is a full moon that occurs when the moon is exactly at the perigee or within 90 percent of the distance to perigee," Malaysia's National Planetarium senior principal assistant director, Mohd Zamri Shah Mansor, explained to New Straits Times.
"The closer the full moon is to Earth, the bigger and brighter it appears when observed from Earth. Since July's full moon distance is the closest among other supermoons in 2022, it will appear as the largest supermoon for this year."
The largest supermoon for 2022 is set to take place on July 13 until July 14, 2022.
