If you can't focus on work, this strict 'Asian mum' will check in on you every 2 minutes

Struggling to focus at work or study? Are the regular ASMR videos or lo-fi beats on YouTube no longer cutting it?

TwoSetsViolin recently released a four-hour-long video of an "Asian mum" checking in on you and I have to admit, that got me to complete this article.

The musical duo comprising Eddy Chen and Brett Yang regularly upload entertainingly creative videos of themselves playing the violin.

However, this video titled '4 Hours of Asian Mum to Help You Focus on Practising/Studying/Working' is different. For four hours, Eddy can be seen performing the role of an Asian mum who checks in on you frequently.

"Hello! What are you doing?" the "mum" begins before adding, "Oh? Well, you better hurry up and start now! Don't be lazy, okay? I come back to check every two-minutes."

And for four hours, mummy Chen keeps to her word. You'll find her sneakily checking in on you by peeking through the doorway or she'll visit you on the pretext of bringing a hot cup of chocolate milk.

Accompanying the video is the muffled, but oddly soothing, sound of a television playing a random Chinese show.

If you've ever wondered what it's like to live in an Asian household as a kid who is pressured to perform at exams, this video gives you the authentic experience according to many comments by YouTube users.

"Okay but the mixing of all the background sounds is so good. It really gives 'life' to the house. It’s noise that isn’t too loud, but also makes you less lonely," Jenny Duong said.

"Thank you! This helped me to finish school, get a PhD, and start a family in four hours," wald_artwald_art claimed.

Caidalee says, "The joke is that it actually really helps me stay motivated to study. She enters so quietly, I’ll never know when the next surprise check is. I better get to work."

Some users claimed that the video is super nostalgic to the point that it reminded them of home.

"The fact that he made this video to put a smile on a few peoples’ faces, and ended up bringing thousands of strangers on the Internet together to laugh, smile, and share comforting experiences is the most wholesome thing I’ve seen in a while," Neon Lights commented.
