In the farmlands of Pampas, Argentina lies the spectacular aerial image of a guitar-shaped forest planted and cultivated by a farmer for over four decades — all in honor of his late wife.
In 1977, Pedro Martin Ureta lost his 25-year-old wife Graciela Yraizoz to a sudden brain aneurysm while pregnant. But it was only a few years before Graciela's death that the couple had briefly discussed creating a guitar-shaped plantation on their ranch.

This had happened while Graciela had been flying over the Pampas farmlands, when she'd spotted a farm designed in the shape of a milk pail. Intrigued by the image, she'd later asked Pedro — who'd already owned a ranch at the time — if it were possible to shape their own farming estate into the shape of a guitar — the instrument that she loved so dearly.
Although Pedro had promised to "talk about it later", the day never did come, and the farmer was left distraught after his wife's sudden passing.

However, he did not forget that one request by Graciela, and in 1979, he and his four kids set out to work on a forest-garden compound in the shape of a guitar. Simple lines were drawn and spaced out, and over 7,000 trees were planted — including Cypress trees for the outline and star-shaped hole in the center, and Eucalyptus trees to illustrate the guitar's "strings".
Today, the guitar-shaped forest stretches two-thirds of a mile (just over a kilometer), and it can even be seen from space. For example, you can view it on Google Earth, and NASA has also documented it using its Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) on the Terra satellite.

For Pedro, however, it's probable that the farmer might never really enjoy the view of his own hard labor from a plane with his own eyes. Considering how he's so afraid of flying, the forest will suffice as a mark of his dedication to his late wife.
But what a beautiful dedication it is.
