One of the biggest fears for any driver of a vehicle is the possibility of a dangerous accident occurring, or a vehicle breakdown. While the latter is much less serious, it could lead to many inconveniences that ruin your entire day.
It sucks, especially if you find yourself stranded on the slow lane of a busy highway in a tropical Southeast Asian country like Malaysia, where temperatures can reach up to 32 degrees Celsius. And if the heat doesn't get you, the rain will.
Unfortunately, it's hard to predict when things like this will happen – something Malaysian assistant medical officer Faiq Haziq Rusli and his colleague could definitely relate to when their truck suddenly broke down while delivering items from a Putrajaya hospital all the way to a rehabilitation center in Cheras.
Facebook to the rescue.
Stranded, the two men decided to arrange for some food to be delivered to them, only to find out it wasn't possible due to their strange location – literally by the side of a highway.
Hungry and thirsty, Faiq then reached out to members of the Cheras & Ampang Food Delivery group on Facebook, explaining his unfortunate situation.

"Is there anyone who can COD (cash-on-delivery) water? I'll pay for it because I'm stuck in the middle of the road and my truck broke down," Faiq writes in his call for help.
Normally, one would probably think this attempt would bear no fruit, considering that he had posted the photo at just around half-past-noon on September 29, 2022 – a working day. But it seems that there are still some good, caring people out there.
Less than an hour after his initial post, Faiq followed up with photos of a bottle of orange juice as well as other drinks, which passersby and fellow motorists gave to him, free of charge.

According to Faiq, he also received some nasi kandar (steamed rice served with a variety of side dishes).
A tweet by Twitter user @okedkama recounted the ordeal, as well as the generosity of passersby and motorists:

"The truck broke down on the highway and he couldn't order food delivery. Hence, he asked for help from people on Facebook, and a lot of people helped him. He received a lot of food and I am really happy to see it," reads the tweet.
Faiq himself replied to the tweet not long after, saying he was super thankful for their help, as well as that of everyday Malaysians who came to his aid:

"In the blink of an eye, it spread. Thank God Malaysians are kind and considerate. I didn't think I'd get this much help," Faiq says in his tweet.
Faith in humanity restored.
