When tech companies take jabs at each other, it gives us all a good laugh regardless if you are a fan of the product or not.
While trolling makes for a cheap marketing tactic, they seem to work pretty well.
Huawei made the perfect example. They gave out free power banks to Apple fans who were lining up for the new iPhones in Singapore since the break of dawn; an obvious jab at the battery life of iPhones.
Now, there is another company that is taking notes and pulled off something pretty similar. During the launch of the OnePlus 6T in New Delhi, India, Xiaomi gave out calculators to OnePlus fans that were lining up for the phone with the slogan "DO THE MA+H".

It was an obvious play on the price of the Pocophone F1 against the OnePlus 6T. Both phones come with roughly the same specs but with a significantly different price. In India, the Pocophone retails for 20,999 rupies (US$286.97) while the 6T retails at 37,999 rupies (US$519.29).
Xiaomi even took an extra step and released a promotional video on Twitter giving a comparison on the price and specs of the phone:
Never Settle for OverPriced. Unlock the #MasterOfSpeed. You decide. #DoTheMath pic.twitter.com/KvCIDyXXSq — POCO India (@IndiaPOCO) October 30, 2018
Let's hope we see more of these kinds of jabs and trolling in the future from other tech companies.
