Necklaces made to protect against 5G found to have radiation instead

While 5G technology has been proven to be quite safe, there are those that have seen fit to take advantage of the insecurities and fears of conspiracy believers. Among the things said about 5G in these circles, the technology has been accused of causing cancer, reducing immune system functions, and even being the originator of COVID-19.

Consequently, it’s hardly surprising that you can find products promising to protect users against said harmful side effects of 5G radiation.

One such product is a necklace marketed to consumers with the promise of protecting them against 5G waves for as long as they wear it. The necklace comes with what is called a “quantum pendant”, and supposedly works by emitting protective negative ions.

This pendant works similarly to other products in the same vein, including sleeping masks and bracelets that all promise to achieve the same effect.

But in an ironic twist of fate, it has been discovered that such products – instead of protecting wearers against harmful 5G waves – are actually themselves radioactive, and therefore completely unsafe to wear.

This comes after the Dutch Authority for Nuclear Safety and Radiation Protection (ANVS) publicly revealed that no less than 10 of such products emitted harmful ionizing radiation, and have asked people to immediately discontinue using them.

“Exposure to ionizing radiation can cause adverse health effects,” the ANVS said. “Due to the potential health risks they pose, these consumer products containing radioactive materials are therefore prohibited by law.”

“Ionizing radiation can damage tissue and DNA, and can cause, for example, red skin,” it added.

Just don't use them at all.

Even despite the products containing low levels of radiation, the ANVS still insisted that using them would eventually cause damaging effects on the body.

“Only low levels of radiation have been measured on these specific products,” the agency said. ”However, someone who wears a product of this kind for a prolonged period – a year, 24 hours a day – could expose themselves to a level of radiation that exceeds the stringent limit for skin exposure that applies in the Netherlands.”

“To avoid any risk, the ANVS calls on owners of such items to not wear them from now on.”

Over the years, plenty of products have been promoted as being neat trinkets to help ward off radiation and vibrations from various sources ranging from microwaves to blue light to 5G, with many of them ending being confirmed as bogus and ineffective cash grabs.

Just last year, the UK’s Trading Standards moved to stop the sales of a USB stick that claimed to offer protection from 5G waves. It was sold for no less than US$450 (GBP339).

However, with the new announcement by the ANVS, it seems as though such products can do more than hurt buyers’ wallets, and instead harm them over the long term – the exact opposite of the task they promised to achieve in the first place.
