If you've ever been to Singapore, you might have come across an otter or two, or maybe even an entire family of them.
The sight of these smooth-coated otters can either bring about joy or disdain (considering that they can be a little naughty at times). But regardless of your opinion, it's pretty safe to say that they're a Singapore icon, despite the city-state's 'Lion City' nickname.
With Singapore celebrating its 57th National Day on August 9, 2022, the folks at Google have launched a new in-app game on Google Pay, featuring a few Singapore icons, including otters!
Happy birthday, here's some cake.
From August 1 to 14, making digital payments on the Google Pay app will be even more rewarding thanks to the Lion City Cake game, which will allow you to win a cashback reward of up to S$57, as well as other special merchant vouchers. All you need to do is complete three simple transactions with the app.

You can access the Lion City Cake game from the homepage, where you'll be tasked with helping out a cute little otter family in making a special cake for Singapore's 57th birthday. But the only way to decorate each layer of the cake is to make transactions. You'll only need to perform three different types:
1. Send at least S$10 to a friend who's on Google Pay.
2. Make a PayNow merchant transaction of at least S$3 on Google Pay.
3. Make a FavePay merchant transaction of at least S$3 on Google Pay.
Pretty simple, eh?
With each different transaction, you'll be able to decorate the different layers of the cake with some of Singapore's most iconic landmarks, including Marina Bay Sands, Changi Airport, and the Dragon Playground.

In addition to a cashback reward, users who complete the transactions can also win exclusive vouchers from Deliveroo, Klook, Guardian, and Lazada, as well as Singaporean brands such as FairPrice, Irvin's, Flash Coffee, Ryde, TADA, and KELE.

After completing all these actions, you'll win a cashback voucher worth anywhere between S$1.57 and S$57! However, if you still find yourself hungry for more vouchers, you can even do a short five-question quiz that tests your knowledge of Singapore. Get at least three answers correct and you'll receive one additional voucher. This can be done every day throughout the promotion period.
