Gamers Gather At TTDI Café For Retro Games, Wholesome Community Vibes And More!

Last weekend, gamers in Kuala Lumpur showed that fun and community matter more than competition or negativity.

MyGameOn and SAYS Tech joined forces on Sept 27 to host the Rileks Je, Takyah Toksik Lepak Session at ATO Gaming Café, TTDI. And the result was a five-hour hangout filled with matches, sharing sessions, and plenty of wholesome energy.

Beyond the games, the event carried a message: creating safer, more positive spaces for gamers

The lepak session is part of the wider Rileks Je, Takyah Toksik campaign, which advocates for healthier, safer, and more inclusive gaming spaces. Instead of feeding the flames of online toxicity, the event encouraged players to reconnect with what gaming is really about: fun, community, and connection.

Consoles, cards, confessions and so much more!

From 12 noon to 5pm attendees explored a variety of zones packed with activities. At the Lepak Gaming Zone, they enjoyed console favourites such as Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, Jump Force, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Overcooked.

The Arcade Challenge Zone brought retro fun with classics like Daytona and Gunblade NY, while the Tabletop & TCG Zone, hosted by Quantum Nexus, offered hands-on play with Altered TCG and Magic: The Gathering. For those who preferred browsing, the Retro Bazaar featured consoles, collectibles, comics, and pop culture treasures.

On the main stage, panelists opened up about issues that often get sidelined in gaming culture.

Streamer and caster Tashbunny shared her perspective as a woman navigating the esports scene, while Dr Khadijah Hasanah Abang Abdullah, psychiatrist and Universiti Sains Malaysia lecturer, touched on mental health awareness through Esports MedicA.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a lepak session without some competition.

Winners of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fun match scored 5,000 in-game diamonds. Attendees also joined Community Confessions, where they shared personal stories — from the struggles of facing online toxicity to uplifting moments of support from fellow gamers.

And yes, there were plenty of goodies. Participants collected stamps across zones to redeem exclusive bags packed with sponsor swag from UniPin and Trapo. The day wrapped up with a Logitech lucky draw, sending some home with premium gaming gear.

Why does it matter?

“Gaming is meant to bring people together, not tear them apart,” said Hazril Md Nor, editor of MyGameOn. “With Rileks Je, Takyah Toksik, we wanted to create a safe, fun space where the community can enjoy games, connect, and reflect on how we treat each other online.”

The event was made possible with support from ATO Gaming Café, UniPin, Trapo, Logitech, and Quantum Nexus.
